I know I'm a little behind on blogging. We've had a lot going on, and then getting ready for neck surgery just kind of took over my life. There was a lot to do at work since I won't be going back for a few weeks. I had the surgery on Wednesday morning, and everything went very well. Dr. Tullis said he was able to remove the bad disc, and there were also several disc fragments that he had to go in and clean out which could have been causing quite a bit of my pain. They replaced the disc with bone and fused it together with a metal plate. The surgery itself only took about an hour. He said he was very pleased with the results, and the baby is doing great. I made sure they checked for her heartbeat all the time and that the meds were all safe for her, too. Casey made fun of me and said I was being paranoid, but I think it's better to be safe than sorry. We were able to come home Thursday afternoon, and mom will probably stay til Sunday and then head back to Memphis.
OH! For those who haven't heard, we have a name for the baby: Abigail Elizabeth Cochran. :) We'll call her Abby, and I'm so excited to finally have a name picked out. It took Casey a while to settle on it, but we're both happy with it.
They just gave me a prescription for Lortab to take for pain at home, but I'm trying to only take it at night when I sleep. The pain isn't terrible, and I want to get by on Tylenol (or nothing) as much as I can. The fewer drugs I take, the better off Abby will be. She is still kicking and moving so I'm not nearly as worried for her as I was. I think she'll be a strong little girl.
I do get tired pretty easily, so I think the blogging will have to end there. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and words of encouragement!

Glad to hear the update. So thankful everything went well and that mom and baby are both fine. Abigail Elizabeth is a beautiful name!
Love the name! Can't wait to meet little Abby. And we're so glad you are doing so well after surgery. Mamaw has kept us updated on your progress post-op. We have a friend in Ft. Worth who had this surgery several years ago, and she has done VERY well. It was amazing to see how the pain went away.
Love the name. I am so glad that you are done with surgery. It sounds pretty major, but it also sounds like they took good care of you and little Abby. I hope you continue to improve and be strong.
I'm glad to hear you are recovering nicely and that Abigail went through the process undisturbed! I love the name you have selected!
Love you! Glad the surgery went well. Glad Abby is great! ^_^
I'm so glad your surgery went well. You guys have picked a precious name for that sweet girl. Can't wait to meet her! We're glad to be closer to the Curtis side of the family and the Curton side of the family too. It'll be so neat to be surrounded by so much family, but we are going to miss the Haughs a lot. It's a hard trade off.
Sweet name. So glad you are doing well. I don't think you are being paranoid. But I have heard that said about me, too, before. :) It is ok to be though - something about wanting to nurture and protect the little one inside you, I guess.
I hope that from here on - you will have new strength!

I love the name! In fact, that's the exact name we would have given Caleb, had he been a girl.
So glad your surgery went well, and that you and Abby came out with flying colors. You're a trooper, to go through this in the middle of your pregnancy, but I'm sure you are already feeling much better.
