Memorial Day weekend

I had a great weekend with a best friend that I never get to see anymore! Sara and I were at Harding together, but now that she and hubby live in Alabama it's all about the phone calls, emails, and facebook. This past weekend we were able to meet up in Memphis at Mom and Dad's house, go to a Redbird's game with the fam, and come back to my house for a few days of craftiness! Here's us at the game:

Sara is my main stamping buddy so we tend to get a little crazy when we're together. The project for this weekend was coasters! I've made a few sets before, and this was her first experience. We made several sets so I won't post them all, but here are a few samples of my handywork.

If you see something you like, I sell them! Only $15 for a set of 4 and $20 for a set of 6. Anybody interested?? :)

Casey vs. Abby's stroller

I had my first baby shower at work today, and the main big gift they all got for us was Abby's stroller and car seat! SO excited! Of course, we had to get it out as soon as I got home and assemble it. Casey did a very good job putting it all together. The pictures look a little more "adventurous" than it really was, but they're entertaining. Here are a couple of shots of the happy daddy preparing for his little girl (feel free to ignore the mess surrounding him). :)

Progress in babyland

I had Casey take another couple of pictures of the ever expanding belly since we're at the 28 week mark:

Today, Abby spent the majority of her time stretching in every way she possibly could to make sure there is plenty of room for her to grow over the next few weeks. OUCH! We also had a check up with the doctor, and everything is going well except.... I didn't pass the glucose screening. Now I have to go back in a week and suffer through the 3 hour glucose test for gestational diabetes. Yuck! Hopefully, I can improve my diet and exercise habits between now and then so I'll pass the test with flying colors. I've also gained a little too much weight (or so the doctor says... he's not the one feeding 2 people!), so the diet/exercise changes should help with that, too.

The other important development from today's appointment was scheduling the c-section! If all goes according to plan, Abby will be arriving on August 4th! That's about a week and a half before her due date because they don't want me going into labor, so she'll be here a little sooner than anticipated! I can't believe how quickly it's all going. I know Casey's not sure how much longer he can survive living in this "freezing cold" house, but it's getting hot here!!! How on earth am I going to make it through the next couple of months without melting into a puddle?? I think it's time we got a pool... :)

Tag time!

I saw this a while back on Trisha's blog and thought it was cute. :)

What I was doing 10 years ago:
I was finishing my freshman year of high school and probably getting ready for an amazing summer of youth group trips.

Five Things on My To-Do List Today:
1. Go to work for my first full day since the surgery (done)
2. Pay some bills (done)
3. Eat a healthier dinner--NOT fast food! (ham, green beans, and Lipton butter noodles)
4. Take a nap! (done)
5. Update the family calendar in the kitchen (going to be done when I finish this)

Things I Would Do If I Were a Billionaire:
1. Pay off ALL of our student loans (including the ones Mom and Dad are paying)
2. Pay off ALL medical bills and debt
3. Support charity/missionary efforts
4. Set up funds for our kids for college
5. See the world... well, the parts I want to see :)
6. Hire a housekeeper, personal chef, and gardener.

Three of My Bad Habits (I asked Casey for his input here.... he enjoyed it a little too much)
1. Nagging/Being impatient
2. Leaving my stuff (especially shoes) all over the house
3. Pouting when I don't get my way... but just with Casey. :)

Five Places I Have Lived
1. Fort Worth, TX
2. Hot Springs, AR
3. Memphis, TN
4. Searcy, AR
5. TBA

Five Jobs I Have Had
1. Tupperware: mall cart cashier/stock girl, bookkeeper, order filler... thanks Uncle Russ and Aunt Janet for the varied employment opportunities :)
2. Johnnie Rockets: waitress, hostess, dishwasher, busgirl, cashier--WORST JOB EVER
3. Harding University: admissions office (with Aunt Carol!)
4. Wilson-Bennett: telemarketer--maybe the 2nd worst job ever
5. Wilbur D. Mills Education Service Cooperative: early childhood student services programmer.... aka paper pusher and one who informs parents that their child is delayed/makes parents cry

I guess I'm tagging anyone who feels the need to do this list or who has nothing better to blog about! :)

Pfizer Family Zoo Day

While Pfizer might be laying off employees left and right lately, they can still apparently manage to fund a family day at the Memphis zoo. :) Thanks to Dad for getting tickets for himself, Mom, Tara, and me to go together. Casey was stuck at home with things to do (well, he was going to do things... before he got nailed with a nasty stomach bug. :-/). Anyway, I managed to grab a few pictures off of Tara's camera to post on here.

Everyone got to pose with an animal, so here's Tara with the lovely ostrich:
Dad and his awesome red tongue got to stand with the zebras. It had been a long time since we had Icees--yum! :)
Mom is pretty in pink with the graceful flamingos
Tara and I tried to pose in the bird area without getting bomb dived by the crazy birds. Mom was attacked twice!
Nothing amazing, but it at least documents our lovely family day of fun together. If I can get one of the whole family from Mom, I'll add it later. I, of course, forgot to take my camera completely. We also had a lovely Mother's Day of grilling out and taking naps. :) What a great weekend!

Dance, baby, dance!

Random little funny for the day:

I was watching "Dreamgirls" again last night, and I noticed that Abby started going moving around like crazy during the really emotional/loud songs. This has led me to believe the following. Either:

1) She thinks the movie/music was too loud.
2) She was glad I had just eaten dinner and had more energy.
3) Baby's got soul. :)

Honestly, I'm just always so glad to feel her moving around in there. Any other thoughts on her random flailing? Feel free to share. :)
