Well, I believe Casey said it best when he described today's appointment as "anticlimactic." Apparently, the main purpose of today was to answer basic health questions, get my weight, and draw about 5 vials of blood for various testing. We only met with the nurse (who is wonderful, by the way), so no ultrasound or heartbeat today. She did give us a ton of info on local classes to look into--including prenatal yoga! We go back on January 30th for a follow up with the doctor, and that one is supposed to be more in depth.
In other baby news, I have officially outgrown most of my pants. I have a special rubber band that has allowed me to continue wearing some of my pants, but I fear that our time together won't last much longer. I've only gained a couple of pounds, but it looks like I'm going to have to break down and go shopping this weekend... if I can make it that long. It's so crazy how everything just shifts around like that! Casey's official job is now to remind me that I'm not just getting fat... I'm having a baby. I'm hoping that finding clothes that fit better and aren't so tight will help me with that mindset. :)

You're not getting fat. You're having a baby.
Excellent job, Casey. :) I hear stores all over Memphis calling your name, Rachel -- it's time to go shopping!
haha, I wish I were one of those people that enjoyed running too...it sucks!! But I enjoy the feeling of getting it done, so I guess that's better than nothing! :) Good luck shopping! And I'm very curious about this "special rubberband"
Oh, I can't wait to see you looking a little rounded in the tummy. I'm sure you are so cute pregnant!
It gets worse...lol...
I wish we lived closer so you could borrow mine and Elizabeth's clothes. I believe we could easily clothe three pregnant women with all the variety we have. Of course, our pants might look like capris on you!
First OB/GYN appointments are notoriously "anticlimctic". You think they are going to tell you everything you've ever wanted to know but were never pregnant enough to ask. (Can you be "Not pregnant enough"?) Oh well, good luck at the next appointment. I'm excited for you!
Special rubber band huh? Before you know it people will be catching on to that trend!! LOL!!
So cute! I agree with Aunt Donna--I bet you are so cute pregnant! I'm also proud of you for doing prenatal yoga. So many people don't realize that if you already work out, you can work out throughout most of the pregnancy. Also, in the last tri-mester, read "Cat in the Hat" aloud to the baby--supposedly the rhythms the baby hears are really good for him/her. ^_^
Ha! Attaboy Casey. Good luck with that...
Maternity clothes are so hot right now... I'm jealous :)
hey, so I'm glad I'm inspiring and all...but it has been two weeks since you've updated us! Surely there is some news! How did the fat pants buying go? can't wait till you look like a cute little prego woman...even though I probably won't see it unless you post pictures! :)
