Lord's Prayer for the Military Wife

We are one week from Casey's departure to Basic Training. Several of the guys from church took him camping this past Friday night, and they gave him the "Soldier's Bible" to take with him. It has a lot of neat stuff in addition to the Scriptures for soldiers to read when they are studying the Bible. I found this in the back, and I love it.

Lord’s Prayer for the Military Wife (Author Unknown)

Lord, grant me the greatness of heart to see

The difference in duty and his love for me.

Give me the understanding to know

That when duty calls he must go.

Give me a task to do each day

To fill the time when he is away,

And Lord, when duty is in the field,

Please protect him and be his shield.

That was so great for the guys to do that "going-away" for Casey. I'm praying for all of you and know God will take care of you through this! Love you!

New adventures are both exciting and scarey. We will be praying for all of you as you begin this new chapter in your lives. Love you all and we're praying for safety and peace for you.

Those are such sweet pictures. And I got goosebumps at a couple points in the prayer. I was just telling Casey that I wouldn't be as strong as all the wives who have to be apart from their husbands. But I know you are! And it was so good to see Abby tonight! She is so smart!

As a 14 yr. Army wife. (wow that is a long time)
You are going to be a great Army wife! So supportive already.
You will find your place among "us" and meet some of the most amazing women.
He is going to do well and you both will find you can do things you never knew you could!
It is always hard when they leave.
Not sure how I found your blog. Glad I did!
